Corvette-Based Kit Car Looks Like A Budget Supercar

The kit comes with the welded tubular spaceframe featuring a steel floor, fiberglass body panels, front windshield, a custom fuel tank, radiator, dashboard, center console, and few other odds and ends. What it doesn’t include is the engine, transmission, shocks, springs, steering wheel, seats and seat belts, wiring harness, and a long list of other items buyers will need in order to get the car up and running.

Like any kit car, customers can complete the build at home. Alternatively, for a fee DDR Motorsport can do the entire build for them.

This particular GT8 is powered by a 5.7-liter naturally aspirated V8 from the C5 generation, rated at 345 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. That power is directed to the rear wheels through a Getrag six-speed manual gearbox sourced from a 986 Porsche Boxster S. This powertrain also utilizes a Kennedy Engineered Products adapter plate and clutch assembly, and a PSI Performance engine harness and ECU.
